Beloved Houston Burger Institution Announces New Location and Coffee & Wine Bar Addition

Lankford's Burgers, a cherished Houston establishment with over eight decades of history, is set to make significant strides in January 2026.

The family-owned eatery will open its third location in The Woodlands and expand its Midtown flagship with a new coffee and wine bar.

Located at 24 Waterway Avenue, the upcoming Woodlands venue will occupy the former Baja Cantina space.

This expansion is spearheaded by third-generation owners Jessica and Paul Prior, alongside fourth-generation family member Nicolas van der Does.

The new location aims to cater to all ages, featuring a 12-tap self-serve beer wall, a milkshake bar offering both kid-friendly and boozy options, and a 'Rescue Menu' with dog-friendly dishes.

A portion of the proceeds from the Rescue Menu will benefit the Montgomery County Animal Shelter.

Additionally, patrons can join the newly introduced Lankford's Wine Club, which offers exclusive selections, events, and perks for members.

These enhancements complement Lankford's signature lineup of burgers and comfort food classics, all served in a warm and inviting atmosphere that honors its Houston roots.

Simultaneously, the Midtown flagship is undergoing a significant expansion.

The team has acquired the adjacent lot to transform it into a new coffee and wine bar.

This addition will offer in-house pastries crafted by pastry chef Jenny Finch, specialty coffee drinks, and a sommelier-curated wine list.

Light bites and the full Lankford's menu will be available throughout the day.

This development aims to enhance the guest experience while preserving the charm and comfort-food legacy that has made Lankford's a Houston staple since 1937.

Both the Midtown expansion and The Woodlands opening are scheduled to welcome guests in January 2026, marking a significant moment of growth as Lankford's moves into its fourth generation of family leadership.
